It is with great excitement that we share with you the highlights of the 10th Annual Georgia Race for the Cure® which was held throughout September 2015 in Batumi, Kutaisi and Tbilisi. We are proud to have worked with so many remarkable individuals in these cities who opened their arms and hearts to those affected by breast cancer by attending, donating and volunteering.
Celebrating ten years of raising funds and awareness to support the international breast cancer movement, the steering committee expanded its partnerships west of Tbilisi adding events in Batumi and Kutaisi. To mark the 10th anniversary, team captains were urged to recruit 10 people raising 10 GEL and a suggested minimum donation was 2 GEL per participant.
With the help of other community leaders and media outlets, these prestigious 5K Run & 2K Walk events hosted thousands of people, partnered with dozens of organizations and received world-wide recognition. Participants received information on breast health; had the opportunity to speak with qualified medical professionals; and interacted and shared stories with other participants including breast cancer survivors.
The level of leadership and commitment to this important cause broke records in participation and fundraising… and we’re just getting started, Georgia! We will win the fight against breast cancer TOGETHER. For more information and pictures, please visit one of our event pages below:
